Cox Media Group
ATSC 2015 sponsor Cox Media Group (CMG) is an integrated broadcasting, publishing, direct marketing and digital media company whose operations include 14 broadcast television stations and one local cable channel, 59 radio stations, seven daily newspapers and more than a dozen non-daily publications, as well as more than 100 digital services.
CMG is heavily involved in the development of the ATSC 3.0 next-generation digital television standard. “I think 3.0 is absolutely vital to our future in broadcasting, and we need to get it done as soon as practical,” says Dave Siegler, CMG VP of Technical Operations, chairman of the ATSC 3.0 Personalization and Interactivity Implementation Team (PI-IT), and member of the ATSC Board of Directors. CMG is also one of nine major broadcast groups making up the Pearl TV partnership and is working hard to develop business models based on ATSC 3.0.
ATSC 3.0’s evolution depends on industry collaboration. With continued participation from corporate sponsors like CMG, the next generation of television will become a reality. CMG currently operates in more than 20 media markets and reaches approximately 52 million Americans weekly, including more than 31 million TV viewers, more than 3.5 million print and online newspaper readers, and more than 14 million radio listeners.
