Samsung Electronics
ATSC sponsor Samsung Electronics leads the global market in high-tech electronics manufacturing and digital media. Samsung employees are involved in a variety of leadership positions, including seats on the ATSC Board of Directors, and Technology Group management. Samsung Electronics played an integral role in the development of the “bootstrap signal” of the ATSC 3.0 Physical Layer and is working with ATSC member Pearl TV on technical, field and consumer testing of ATSC 3.0 technologies. “Viewers will ultimately benefit from the next-generation broadcasting made possible by ATSC 3.0, and Samsung will continue to innovate in home entertainment with unparalleled picture quality, wireless portability and new functionality,” said ATSC board member John Godfrey, senior VP, public policy, Samsung Electronics America. “ATSC is making great progress in developing the technical standard. It is now time for the industry to step forward with technical and consumer testing and other collaborations to speed the implementation of the new standard.” For more information, visit www.samsung.com
